God Was Present Today

Updated: Aug 17, 2020

Preface:

In this article, you may swap out the word "God" with whatever aligns with your beliefs.

Although I believe God is always with us, I palpably witnessed this higher presence in our physical human reality. I saw God in the way the beautiful and rich deep blue ombre waves ceaselessly crashed along the shore of Mission Beach. I saw God in the fiery warm sunset, as the glorious shades of creamy orange melted into the milky blue sky. Sitting in the sand with my best friend Natalie, both staring at this miraculous body of water and heavenly sky, there was no mistake. Witnessing the intersection of a higher power and our human existence, I could live forever, I thought to myself.

Five minutes go by, I look away from the ocean, over Natalie's shoulder. The movement of a 747 aircraft catches my eye, the faint roaring echo of the engines catch my ear. How majestic the sun's illumination of the aircraft's nose, glistening as it passes the frame of a glowing waxing gibbous moon. Another beautiful experience of God.

As our night leisurely went on, I became aware of another instance of this higher power revealing itself through nature. The pale pink clouds drifting down the ocean shoreline seemed to house not just one individual, but many. A collective of faint voices in the sky chanting my name over and over and over again. I continued to hear this invisible crowd of people incessantly root for me. It was like they knew I held doubts about my self-efficacy, but they held none, and I fully felt their confidence rise within me. This graceful and radiant power entered the cracks of my being and filled me with light. I knew in the deepest part of my being that this was a connection to the divine love and creative powers of God.

The messages of God sometimes must transmute into a recognizable form to that of our reality for our human minds to comprehend. So, where did these voices come from?

These voices came from rhythmic sets of ocean waves building momentum, surrendering to gravity and crashing in on themselves. One barrel wave collapsing after the next, sending out hollow vibrational patterns into the ether. I also heard the whirls and whispers of the wind as they found their groove between the buoyant waters and the soft sand. And finally, I heard the faint squawking of a large colony of seagulls gathered over the waters far away. And somehow, at this time and place, here with my best friend, the universe's voice entered my knowing. The beautiful vehicles of water, wind, and animals selflessly drove this clear message to me. The universe was rooting for me, and I heard it. Absorbing this miracle, I began to root for myself, too.

This experience reminded me of my innate ability to step into my power, regardless of what I believe, and know that I am worthy. While sometimes it may be difficult for us to root for ourselves, the universe is always rooting for us, waiting for us to tap into the higher realm and hear the faint cries of generations before begging us to step into our power, be brave, and believe we can accomplish anything.
